Cancer / Gratitude Connects Us With Healing

It was February 2004 and I was sitting in the infusion suite at the Orange County Immune Institute in Huntington Beach, California with vitamin C coursing through my veins. I looked to my right and saw a woman who was about 40 years old receiving a similar treatment. We started talking and sharing stories. She was diagnosed with breast cancer around eight years earlier, went into remission, and recently had a recurrence. Her malignancy came back with a vengeance, moving into her liver and lungs. She had worked as an artist most of her life, but had to stop about 15 months prior when the cancer returned.

We started talking and sharing. I asked her where she was living and she pointed out the window behind us. “I’m living out of my car,” she said with a sigh. My heart sank to the floor as I watched her close her eyes. ” I couldn’t pay my rent, so they booted me out about three months ago,” she said.

Over the next few weeks of my time with her, she never whined, never complained, and never thought of herself as a victim. She became my teacher.

A course in Miracles states: Where darkness was I look upon the light – lesson 302. I pondered this verse hundreds perhaps thousands of times when I was facing death. My mentor Dr. Jerry Jampolsky and his wife Diane, taught me many times to let go of the past and concentrate on the present moment. They also guided me to let go of my worries about the future. When we concentrate on these simple concepts, we can start worshiping God and reaching out to others. This in turn can help to alleviate our pain and suffering.

I would not be alive today had it not been for all of my earthly and heavenly angels. I am so grateful for God, Jesus and all of you.

Moreover, if you are suffering from cancer today, humble yourself, get on your knees and pray. Once you are done, get up then go out and give your love away. Love never dies!!!!!
